The Assam Vision 2016-25 envisages making Assam one of the most developed and frontline states of the country by the maximum possible utilization of each of the invaluable resources of the state. The Secretariat Administration Department aims to adopt the Sustainable Development Goals for the utmost achievement of targets.

The Secretariat Administration Department looks after the administration of the Assam Secretariat (Civil), besides dealing with the establishment matters of the officers and staff of the Assam Secretariat Services. The department also provides logistics support to the Council of Ministers/Departments.
